Daily Doodles
This initiative began out of necessity when our art studios at Pump Project in Austin closed, leading me to scale back the size of my work, carving out a small home studio. Over eight years, this project evolved into more than 300 drawings, serving as a sketchbook and a way to connect with others.
These drawings are rooted in the act of exploration, without the pressure of a predetermined outcome. They are art created for the pure joy of making, exercises in play, curiosity, and intuitive mark-making. This practice has become integral to how I approach my painting, installation, and sculptural work.Recently, my steel and walnut sculpture inspired by this series, titled "Daily Doodle," was acquired by the New Mexico Public Art Program.
